Victoria qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and joined Hartley & Worstenholme in 2016. She specialises in property work and in particular Residential Conveyancing having established good links with clients and companies both locally and nationally.
Victoria deals with all types of property transactions including sales, purchases, remortgages and transfers of equity along with more complex matters.
Having joined Hartley & Worstenholme in, 1983 becoming a partner in 1985. With over thirty years experience in property law, Tom now deals with all aspects of residential property and heads up our residential conveyancing department.
This firm is a member of the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme and as well as running a residential Conveyancing caseload Tom deals with our accreditation and compliance with that regime. Tom is also responsible for dealing with many of our mortgage lenders panel appointments.
Following a career in banking Jonathan joined the firm in 2004, qualified into the commercial department as an assistant Solicitor and was appointed Partner in 2010 and Managing Partner in 2017. Jonathan is also a Notary Public, one of a few in the North who is able to serve a number of clients requiring notarial services.
Jonathan specialises in all aspects of Land/Property Law, dealing mainly with commercial property work where Jonathan has developed a sound following due to his ability to advise and negotiate complex lease and business acquisition transactions in a constantly changing marketplace.
Jonathan acts for a number of clients with large commercial property portfolios, advising on sales and purchases; all aspects of leases and lease renewals (both landlord and tenant); Authorised Guarantee Agreements; business sales and purchases and partnership agreements.
Jonathan also manages a residential property caseload and prides himself on his ability to deal with matters quickly and efficiently.
Jonathan also sits on the board of a number of local voluntary organisations.
Practicing in property law since 2001 and qualifying as a solicitor in 2007, Victoria has extensive expertise in a wide range of property transactions. Victoria is experienced in residential property including sales & purchases (freehold & leasehold), transfers of equity, re-mortgages, new build transactions (for developer or buyer), equity release, the drafting of complex legal documents and other miscellaneous property matters. Victoria also has experience in agricultural and commercial property.
Victoria specialises in shared ownership leases and is on the panel of solicitors recommended by a local Housing Association. Customer relations are extremely important to Victoria who prides herself on delivering an efficient and personal service. She is highly regarded for her dedication to each and every job in hand and is widely acknowledged for surpassing expectations. Victoria’s approachability has allowed her to form strong and long lasting relationships with many clients and agents.
Chris has over 30 years’ experience in commercial law matters. He has developed a wide network of clients and contacts and consequently acts on behalf of a large number of local individuals and companies as well as several national and international organisations. Chris is also a Notary Public, one of few in the Yorkshire region, which is an asset to the international companies he represents.
Chris acts on behalf of a number of farmers and land owners with extensive agricultural portfolios.
Away from the legal environment Chris is an ordained Anglican priest and, as a member of the Ecclesiastical Law Society, can provide valuable insight into ecclesiastical law matters. Chris is also a trustee of various local and national charities.
Tim works across all areas of the family department and he has a particular interest in cases involving domestic abuse and matters concerning children. Tim is also a member of the Law Society’s family law accreditation panel.
Josephine is a Solicitor and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Legal executives and has over 15 years experience specialising in all aspects of private client work and also deals with residential property transactions linked to private client matters.
Laura joined the firm over a year ago and enjoys working with a range of clients and companies dealing with sales, purchases, remortgages and right to buy. Laura works with her clients very flexibly including holding one to one meetings. Her clients describe Laura as helpful and going above and beyond to provide a thoroughly excellent service.
Paul is Practice Manager with over 30 years financial management experience and CAT qualified. Paul manages a small team and is responsible for the day to day financial and accounts management of the firm. Paul is known for being straightforward and getting the job done. A keen golfer, Paul’s handicap is 21 and he is also has an avid interest in motor racing.
Kirsty joined the Firm in 2007 and specialises in Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and probate. Kirsty is known for her empathetic approach and down-to-earth nature which means she is able to establish a good relationships with her clients quickly. Kirsty is focused on securing positive and practical results whilst her conscientious approach means that matters are progressed smoothly and effectively.
Jack joined the firm as a paralegal in June 2018 and began his traineeship in September of the same year. Keen and diligent, Jack advises on a variety of matters from corporate to commercial and residential real estate. Jack always takes a pragmatic and flexible approach with clients, understanding their objectives and focused on achieving them.
Sarah qualified as a solicitor in 1992 and joined Hartley & Worstenholme in 2008. She specialises in private client work and deals with preparation of wills, probate and the administration of estates, inheritance tax planning, lasting powers of attorney and Court of Protection work. Sarah has a particular interest in classical music – listening and playing. She also enjoys wine tasting and watching foreign films.
Barbara is an experienced Family Lawyer who has been qualified since 1988. Barbara specialises in matrimonial law, is on the Advanced Family Law Panel, is a collaborative lawyer and member of the Solicitors Family Law Group Resolution.
Barbara deals with divorce and children arrangements as well as family finance, property and pension disputes/settlements arising out of divorce. Barbara also deals with co-habitation issues including separation. Barbara is a specialist in drawing up pre and post-nuptial and co-habitation agreements and is adept at dealing with high conflict situations. The firm can also deal with transfers and sales of matrimonial and jointly owned property.
Peter is experienced in all areas of litigation ranging from personal injury and employment law matters to contractual disputes. Peter also has extensive experience under TOLATA dealing with property disputes between unmarried couples after the relationship has broken down.
Alex joined the Firm in 2017 working in conveyancing before recently commencing his traineeship. Alex is commercially aware and has built up sound knowledge in conveyancing whilst being committed to delivering great client care and communication. Alex has a broad caseload dealing with local and online clients covering sale and purchase (freehold and leasehold), remortgages and transfer of equity.
