  • >Job SummaryTo ensure the smooth operation of reception so that clients (internal and external) and incoming calls are dealt with in a professional, friendly and timely manner.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Effectively process all incoming telephone calls including the logging of calls and the conveying of messages.
    2. Provide telephone support to partners and other staff members as required.
    3. Deal with all visitors to the reception area, especially new clients.
    4. Be responsible for the booking of meeting rooms.
    5. Ensure the tidiness of the reception area and all meeting rooms.
    6. Undertake other clerical and administrative duties i.e. archiving, as may reasonably be required from time to time.
    7. Take credit cards over the phone, cash and cheques and log accordingly so there is an audit trail
    8. Work with the Practice Manager to ensure the smooth running of reception
    9. Participate in any projects as required
    10. Liaise with external clients and suppliers as required 

    Key Skills & Attributes

    You should be a confident communicator with an excellent telephone manner and ability to take accurate information and details from clients. Sometimes clients can be demanding so having a thick skin is helpful. Yous should be familiar with Word and Excel and comfortable using different technologies such as our phone system which is tailored to our firm.  A positive, friendly and enthusiastic demeanour is essential.

    A minimum of two years reception experience is required.

    The role of Receptionist is full-time from 8.45 to 5pm Monday to Friday.

    Cilex/Qualified Solicitor

    Based Castleford – part-time, flexible hours

    Job Summary

    You will be representing parents in Care/Section 31 proceedings providing advice and representation on a full range of issues relating to children. You will also cover general family work.

    Key responsibilities

    1. Focus on Care work and be proficient in and prepared to undertake most of own advocacy
    2. At all stages of Care proceedings, be able to represent people including pre proceedings
    3. Proficiency with legal aid administration and CCMS
    4. Prepared to undertake private law children work and general family matters
    5. Must have working knowledge of the publicly funded Family and Children work and have the ability to service privately funded cases.
    6. Public Child Care work – ideally will have attained Child Panel accreditation in order to take instructions from guardians and represent children or be willing to work towards the accreditation.
    7. Self-starter – pro-active approach, to be able to promote the department and the firm, network with appropriate bodies to grow Care work portfolio, generate new business and be effective at meeting income targets

    Key Skills

    You should have excellent computer skills, be highly organised, accurate, committed to meeting deadlines and keeping meticulous records

    Be able to deal with difficult client situations with empathy and have the ability to build and maintain lasting relationships

    Have a head for business development and growing your own case load
